Skewed Filters

Somewhere around 12 to 17 years after Jesus' death, burial and resurrection, his brother wrote this little, but power-packed letter in the Bible.

From his style of writing, James comes across as a straight shooter when it comes to the truth in the Word and life as a believer in Christ. His belief in God and the risen Christ are unshakeable as he challenges the reader in the following verse:

"...if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He is generous to everyone and will give you wisdom without criticizing you" (James 1:5).

We tend to view and interact with others through skewed filters especially when our past has left us full of trust issues. God isn't out to trip you up. He isn't going to pull the rug out from under your feet because He's cruel. If you're having trust issues with God, our living and loving Father, it's time to adjust your filter. He generously gives good gifts to His children.
